Dayan Melian Castro
Dayán Melián Castro, known by his stage name "Napoleon," is a visual artist and tattoo artist from Cuba. Born in Municipality Florida of Camagüey, he moved to Havana at the age of 16 in search of greater opportunities and a broader horizon. In 2019, he became deeply involved in the fight for freedom in Cuba, channeling his activism through art. Specializing in protest art, Dayán creates powerful graffiti and murals, and he has collaborated with the Express Yourself campaign to amplify the voices of resistance. On September 26, 2022, he was shot while participating in a demonstration against the Family Code. Through his art and activism, Dayán continues to advocate for freedom and change in Cuba.
